Reach
REACH - Regulation (EF) 1907/2006/of 18, december 2006.
We have investigated how REACH affects SKY-LIGHT’s processes and products.
SKY-LIGHT estimates that we will still be able to deliver the products in the future that are familiar to and demanded by our customers.
- SKY-LIGHT uses polymers that are exempt from the registration and evaluation obligation. All monomers used in our products are pre-registered by SKY-LIGHT.
- Substances in food packaging in accordance with the description in regulation 1935/2004/EEC must be registered, but the chemical safety report does not have to include assessments of risks for human health
- SKY-LIGHT only uses auxiliary agents purchased in an EU country and is therefore a downstream user of these agents. As a downstream user, SKY-LIGHT does not have to register the auxiliary agents, but we asked our suppliers for registration.
- No labelling is required for the raw materials used by SKY-LIGHT in the production of food packaging.
We are in close dialogue with our suppliers in order to make sure, that they will still be able to deliver the polymers and chemical substances in the future that we use in our processes and products, and that all substances will be pre-registered according to the EU legislation.
SKY-LIGHT has established a chemical management programme that includes registration, assessment and, if technically possible, prospective substitution of substances where labelling is required.
Help for REACH: SKY-LIGHT is provided with help for REACH through our membership of The Danish Plastics Federation and through European Plastics Converters, EUPC.
Furthermore, we keep informed of REACH through the help desk of The Danish Environmental Protection Agency www.mst.dk and through the guidelines about REACH published by the EU Commission on www.echa.europa.eu.
